Trine Hay Setsaas

Wide experience working at the science-policy interface, from both the science and policy side and from national to global levels, and development and use of scientific knowledge, tools and methodologies in the conservation and management of biodiversity and ecosystem services. Working with applied and policy-relevant knowledge as well as promoting international collaboration. Holds the role as member of IPBES Task Force on Policy Tools and Methodologies and have previously held the role as Norway's national focal point for both CBD SBSTTA and UNCCD CST. Involved in the IPBES process since before its establishment, as a negotiator on behalf of the Norwegian Government. Now has a role as adviser to the Norwegian delegation to IPBES. Have been Norway's representative to the governing bodies of UN Environment and UN-Habitat in Nairobi, through the position as counsellor at the Royal Norwegian Embassy. At present working with facilitating and promoting international collaboration in applied environmental research as well as narrowing the gap between science and policy both in Norway and globally. Guest lecturer at both NTNU and NMBU.
