Project GoForMura gathered about 50 stakeholders and residents of Prekmurje region (NE Slovenia) at the presentation of the project GoForMura and the obtained results of field surveys in 2015. The main motto of the workshop - more efficient management and monitoring of forested Natura 2000 sites - is also the main objective of the project GoForMura. This objective includes many activities undertaken in the years 2015 and 2016 by the project promoter Slovenian Forestry Institute under the project commitments with partners Slovenian Forest service, LUTRA institute and NINA institute. Project is funded by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2009-2014 (SI02) in Slovenia.

On the first day 14 researchers presented the concrete results of the semi-annual work on the project forest areas near Mura river in Prekmurje. Invited lecture on beaver behaviour -population development and management of beavers in Europe following re-establishment – what do they suggest for Slovenia- was made by Duncan Halley. The conclusions was made by the project manager Marko Kovac presented the idea of ??the future management plan.

The second day started with a presentation of the existing forest management plan for the project areas Murska Šuma and Gornja Bistrica and continued with the presentation of the elements of the future management plan, which will be one of the major results of the project.

The ultimate purpose of similar workshops for the general public is not only the legality but legitimacy of manufactured spatial plans- so the main goal was to made participatory workshop. We used several new ways of obtaining the opinions of the forest owners, visitors and other stakeholders. The results will help us build management plan synchronized with forest owners, other stakeholders and policy.
