Knowledge areas
My research focuses on the ecology, behaviour, and life-history dynamics of salmonids, with a particular focus on how environmental variability influences growth rates, phenology, and survival across freshwater and marine life stages. Recently, I have also been exploring how flow characteristics in regulated rivers and hydropower systems affect fish behaviour. I have previously studied the trophic ecology of anadromous salmonids, including interactions between escaped aquaculture species and native fishes. By working with these themes, I hope to advance our understanding of the factors shaping wild fish populations under increasing anthropogenic pressures.
